Grandad's Garden

In memory of my grandad who passed away last week in Morrinsville, New Zealand.

I took these photos of his home garden the day before he passed.  Grandad's garden still has a great influence on my passion for the natural beauty of plants and love of neat rows and measured spacings in the vegie patch.

  1. I am so sorry to hear this, but glad at least that you were able to be there.

    1. Thanks Jeni. It really was a blessing that I was able to be there and spend with extended family.

  2. Deep condolences to you and your family. Your granddad looks like a fit Waikato farmer in that picture. What a nice garden.

    1. Thanks David and Peter. He certainly was pretty fit almost until the end. He started life as a dairy farmer then moved on to managing factories. I'd almost forgotted how beautiful NZ is in the summer - the light is amazing and the green just takes my breath away every time.
